Rahul was dropped ahead of the fifth and final T20I against England after registering scores of 1,0,0 and 14 in the first four matches of the series. Rahul was the highest run-scorer in IPL 2020 (670 runs at 55.83 with 1 hundred and 5 fifties) and was also adjudged Player of the Series in New Zealand before that in February.
