Bairstow took the India new-ball bowlers to the cleaners as he gave England the early advantage in their chase of 318 in the ODI series opener. Jonny Bairstow is among the only 4 England batsmen who have scored 10 or more ODI hundreds. Test skipper Joe Root tops the list with 16 hundreds while Eoin Morgan has 13 and former opener Marcus Trescothik has 12. Bairstow and his opener partners Jason Roy also equalled the record for the most number of 100-plus stands for England. The duo matches Eoin Morgan and Joe Root’s tally of 12 hundred-plus stands in the 50-over format when they hit 135 runs for the opening wicket on Tuesday.
