Rohit brought up his 23rd fifty off 37 balls just before KL Rahul hit his 13th half-century from 35 balls with the team score going past 100 in the 12th over. Both Rohit and Rahul smashed blazing fifties to forge a 140-run opening stand before Karim Jamat gave Afghanistan their maiden breakthrough by dismissing the Mumbai batsman for 74 in the 15th over.
