England tour of India 2021: England skipper Eoin Morgan has said that his team were taken out of their comfort zone by Virat Kohli and co. in the second T20I, which the visitors lost by 7 wickets.
Limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan, on Sunday (March 14), said that England were taken out of their ‘comfort zone’ by India in the second T20I in Ahmedabad. With Indian captain Virat Kohli roaring back to his prime form, England bowlers could do little to stop him. Kohli scored an unbeaten 49-ball 73 in Sunday’s game to see India chase off England’s 164 with 13 balls to spare. According to Morgan, the pitch was slow and acting low and also did no have a lot of turn, hence exposing the team’s ‘weakness’. Morgan further said that England will be expecting such unfamiliar conditions in the upcoming 3rd T20I, on Tuesday (March 16) as well. "It was quite slow, low, and didn't really turn a great deal - [a pitch] that does expose our weakness. We don't play a lot on slow, low wickets and the more that we can do that, the better. Posting a total on a wicket like that, I thought we were right in the game we established partnerships, we got to the point where we tried to accelerate, but managed to lose wickets at different stages,” Morgan said in a press conference.More Related News
