Once the hallmark of Mumbai’s underbelly, dance bars are now roaring in the national capital, crammed with customers throwing money at female performers as they gyrate to Bollywood songs in what appears to be a perfect recipe for another potential outbreak of Covid-19, an India Today investigation found. Some guests smoked hookah with common pipes, others joined the dancers in beaded bustiers and flared ghagra skirts as laser beams overhead illuminated banknotes littered all over the floor.
