
India saved Maldives, says top businessman on economic recovery of island-nation post COVID

The Maldives opened for Indian tourists back from July 15th as the country announced that it will issue on-arrival tourist visas to South Asian travellers.
New Delhi: Maldives top businessman Mohamed Ali Janah who is on an India visit has said that his country is seeing an economic recovery even as the impact of COVID pandemic subsides. The Maldives, which is largely dependent on tourism, was greatly impacted due to the crisis. Expressing confidence, Janah while speaking to WION said, "We have been able to manage things. On the economic front, we were hit very badly. Restaurants, boating were hit very badly. In the early stages, they had to close for a prolonged period of time."More Related News
