The building of a cyber-secure India is important for the development of the nation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday. India's development cannot be done without cyber security.
The Home Minister was speaking at the National Conference on Cyber Safety and National Security being held in Delhi.
During his address, Amit Shah also stated that with the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is going forward in all areas, and the usage of technology has been taken to all levels.
But if cyber security is not ensured, this strength can become a huge challenge for us, he noted. Cyber security is integral to national security and the Modi government is committed to making it robust.
The Home Minister said that the cyber fraud cases are increasing rapidly and it is a challenge for us. Work is being done to avoid cybercrimes and to create a better mechanism in this regard. Expressing hope, he said, "India will emerge as the most cyber secure country in the world in the coming times."
The conference, organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), is part of the efforts to create mass awareness for the prevention of cybercrimes in the country.
