India recorded a total of 7,240 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This marks a 38.4% increase in the number of Covid-19 infections since yesterday. Maharashtra reported the highest number of infections with 2,701 fresh cases.
India logged a total of 7,240 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, marking a 38.4% increase in fresh infections since yesterday. Maharashtra recorded the maximum new infections with 2,701 fresh cases, which is the highest number of cases reported from the state in the last four months.
India’s total Covid-19 caseload is now at 4,31,97,522. India's active caseload stands at 32,498. In the last 24 hours, active cases have increased by 3,641.
The top four states that recorded the maximum number of fresh cases after Maharashtra are Kerala with 2,271 cases, Delhi with 564 cases, Karnataka with 376 cases and Haryana with 247 cases.
Maharashtra alone is responsible for 37.31% of the new cases, while 85.07% of the new infections have been reported from the top five states.
In the last 24 hours, 8 deaths were reported in the country, increasing the total reported death count to 5,24,723.
India's recovery rate now stands at 98.71%. A total of 3,591 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries across the country to 4,26,40,301.
India also administered a total of 15,43,748 doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,94,59,81,691. A total of 3,13,361 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
