India in tough neighbourhood, says US Envoy nominee Eric Garcetti

US President Joe Biden's Envoy nominee to India Eric Garcetti said that "India is situated in a tough neighbourhood” and that he intended to double-down on US efforts to strengthen India’s capacity to secure its borders.

Eric Michael Garcetti, who was nominated as US Ambassador to India on Tuesday, said that India is “situated in a tough neighbourhood”.

“India is situated in a tough neighbourhood. I intend to double-down on our efforts to strengthen India’s capacity to secure its borders and deter aggression through counterterrorism coordination,” Eric Garcetti said.
