India vs England, 2nd T20I: India have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate for the 3rd time in T20I cricket since the resumption of the sport in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
India have been fined 20 percent of their match fee by the International Cricket Council for maintaining a slow over-rate during the 2nd T20I of a 5-match series against England on March 14 in Ahmedabad. This is the 3rd time since the resumption of international cricket in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic that India have been punished for the offence after copping fines in 2 T20is in Australia last year. Javagal Srinath of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after Virat Kohli's side was ruled to be one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration during the 2nd T20I, the ICC said. In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined 20 percent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.More Related News
