The government extended deadlines for various income tax compliances on Friday, June 25, and said that the amount paid by an employer to employees for COVID-19 treatment would be exempted from tax, in order to provide relief amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The payment received from an employer by family members in case of the death of an employee due to COVID-19 would also be exempt from income tax, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance.
