In 27 days, daily new cases rose from 1 lakh to 4 lakh in the country. The peak was met at 4,14,188 new cases on May 6.
The second Covid-19 wave that brought about largescale devastation to lives and livelihoods in India is now fading away. Daily new cases fell below the 1 lakh-mark for the first time in 63 days. India recorded 86,498 new cases on Monday, June 7, which is the lowest after 81,466 new cases recorded on April 1. Daily new cases crossed the 1 lakh-mark on April 4, after which it took 11 days to cross the 2 lakh-mark, then seven days to cross the 3 lakh-mark, and a further nine days to cross the 4 lakh-mark. Altogether, in 27 days, daily new cases rose from 1 lakh to 4 lakh in the country. The peak was met at 4,14,188 new cases on May 6. But while the surge in cases was steep, the fall was also sharp. In 30 days, new cases fell from over 4 lakh to less than 1 lakh.More Related News
