Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the famous LalbaghCha Raja Ganpati Pandal in Mumbai on Monday, September 5. He was accompanied by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Other prominent BJP leaders like Mumbai BJP head Ashish Shelar and BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde were also present.
Amit Shah’s Mumbai visit is being hugely talked about as the senior BJP leader is set to hold a key meeting to strategise plans for the crucial BMC elections that are expected later this year. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s presence at the Ganpati Pandal gave support to the earlier statements made by Shinde and Fadnavis that the BJP will contest the BMC polls along with the Shinde camp and try and wrestle control over the richest civic body in the country.
Amit Shah visited the Ganpati pandal after two years as the festivities had remained suspended for two years due to the pandemic. The state has now BJP back in power along with the Shinde camp and the political temperature in the city is set to rise higher as the Uddhav Thackeray camp too has been working hard on ground zero.
BMC is crucial not just for Uddhav Thackeray camp but for Fadnavis and Amit Shah as well. It’s a prestige issue now for all and political parties are not going to leave any stone unturned to gain control of this civic body.
