In a first, Chennai's IMH employs two transgender persons

Taking a step towards inclusivity, IMH Chennai has offered employment to two transgender persons.

In a first, Chennai’s Institute of Mental Health (IMH) has employed two transgender persons on a contractual basis. IMH Director Poorna Chandrika stated that she used to meet transgender persons regularly as they were required to get a certificate from IMH to get 'Transgender Welfare' card and had always wondered how they would fare in life if provided with a stable income.
