Shehbaz Sharif, who is the Leader of the Opposition in Pakistan, moved a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan last month.
The Leader of the Opposition in Pakistan’s National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, trained his guns on Prime Minister Imran Khan, a day after the embattled premier, facing a no-trust vote in parliament, addressed the nation.
“Imran Khan is so obsessed with India's foreign policy,” Shehbaz Sharif said. “First he said that America wrote the letter. Then he changed his position immediately,” Sharif pointed out.
On Thursday, in a 40-minute televised address, Imran Khan stressed how he had envisioned an independent foreign policy for Pakistan. “Not anti-India, not anti-US, not anti-Europe, but independent,” Khan emphatically said.

Sharif, who is the brother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, claimed, “Imran Khan is a drowning man who is relying on a straw. In votes, we are defeating them. On Sunday, the whole world will see.”
The Opposition has been claiming that they have the votes needed to oust Imran Khan. In a 342-member parliament, either side needs 172 members to pass or dismiss the motion.
On Thursday, a defiant Imran Khan said that he would not resign and urged his countrymen to identify the “traitors” in the National Assembly when they vote against him.
