Important for a team to use home conditions to its advantage: David Miller

David Miller emphasizes the importance of playing in home conditions for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.

Playing in home conditions and using it to one’s advantage is very important for a team in the Indian Premier League, Lucknow Super Giants batter David Miller said on the eve of the match against Gujarat Titans here on Friday.

Like every other team, Super Giants too had set up a preparatory camp here at the Ekana Cricket Stadium and Miller said it is making sure to focus on what its strength is at home.

“It is a very big thing to play at home and being here for the preparation leading up to the IPL; getting to know our conditions, playing a couple warmup games here prior,” he said.

“The dimensions of the field, the conditions of the pitch and all these kinds of things come into effect.  So, if we can use that to our advantage, it does help us in the league,” he added.

Titans’ batter Shahrukh Khan explained that despite the top three, consisting of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler, doing the bulk of the scoring, the middle-order is ready for any situation.

“There will be a situation where wickets do fall, but that’s what our preparation is for. We’ve been doing it for the last one month since our preparatory camp started,” he said.

Shahrukh was promoted to number four in the Titans’ previous match against the Rajasthan Royals, a move he said had been communicated to him by the franchise when it retained him.
