
IMD predicts more rainfall for Gurugram this week, mercury levels to drop

As per IMD's prediction, Gurugram is likely to receive rainfall till Sunday and a yellow alert has been sounded till Friday. Gurugram has recorded 47 per cent of excess rainfall in this monsoon season.
After experiencing a short dry spell, showers returned to Gurugram on Wednesday and kept the weather pleasant and mercury levels at bay. The India Meteorological department (IMD) has sounded a yellow alert for the city till Friday and has warned of heavy rainfall in South Haryana this week. The fresh bout of rainfall is expected to bring down the mercury level and give a respite to the residents as the monsoon activity has been weak in Gurugram.
The residents experienced an overcast sky and light showers on Wednesday in the morning which kept the temperature in check. As per IMD data, the city received 12mm of rain yesterday and luckily, there were no reports of water logging and traffic snarls. The maximum temperature dropped six degrees below the normal notch and was recorded at 29.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.4 degrees Celsius.
