
'Ill advised': Revolt in Congress over Punjab govt's decision to give jobs to party MLAs' sons

Top Punjab Congress leaders, including Cabinet ministers and MLAs, opposed the Captain Amarinder Singh-led government's decision to give jobs to the sons of two former MLAs, saying it may affect the party's campaign ahead of 2022 state elections.
The Congress-led Punjab government's decision to give jobs to the sons of two former MLAs has met with criticism within the party, with top leaders, including Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sunil Jakhar, calling it "ill-advised". The five Cabinet ministers who have opposed the decision include Charanjeet Singh Channi, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhbir Singh Sarkaria, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Razia Sultana. The decision has also been opposed by two Congress MLAs -- Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Kuljit Singh Nagra -- and Youth Congress chief Barinder Dhillon.More Related News
