IIT Madras admissions have started off for school students and working professionals in 2022. It is offering an online degree course in BSc Data Science to all students in Classes 11 and 12 which will give them a big opportunity to later study at IIT Madras.

Applications can be submitted till April 20, 2022, on the official website, iitm.ac.in. Students should note that data analyst and data scientist job roles have been predicted to be the top on the world by 2025.

IIT Madras' official press release reads, "Admissions to Indian Institute of Technology Madras BSc in Programming and Data Science Program are now open to students of Class XI and XII. College students, working professionals, and those taking a career break are also welcome to apply."

All courses are online and proctored exams conducted across India, Sri Lanka and UAE.

Talking about this new course and increased opportunities, Dr. Vignesh Muthuvijayan, Professor In-Charge, BSc in Programming and Data Science, IIT Madras, said, “The BSc Program opens the door to the world of data science and programming where the demand for skilled resources is very high to anyone from any background and of any age group."

"This tailor-made program now admits students who qualify to write JEE Advanced, providing them with an option to fulfil their dream of studying from an IIT and ensuring their hard work and toil is rewarded,” the professor added.

1. Anyone who has passed Class 12 or equivalent can apply irrespective of age or academic background. Those who qualify can join the online degree programme immediately.
