II PUC: Girls trump boys again, Udupi emerges as top performer, Yadgir last

II PUC results 2024-25: Girls outshine boys, Udupi tops, Yadgir ranks last; girls dominate toppers, district-wise performance. Apply by April 13 for scanned copies.

In the II PUC results for 2024-25 announced on Tuesday, the girls have again trumped boys. While Udupi district in Coastal Karnataka emerged the top performer, Yadgir part of Kalyana Karnataka has ranked last, keeping with the trend compared to previous years. 

This year too, the pass percentage of girls is higher than boys by 9.68%. A total of 2,69,212 (77.88%) girls passed against 1,99,227 (68.20%) boys. Not only the overall pass percentage, girls have clearly outnumbered boys even among toppers this year. All those who topped the state in Science, Commerce and Arts streams are girls. Even among the top ten students, girls have hogged the limelight. In Arts stream all the top ten scorers were girls and in Science stream eight were girls and in the Commerce stream seven were girls. 

In district wise performance Udupi district has topped the state with overall pass percentage of 93.90%, followed by 93.57% in Dakshina Kannada, 85.36% in Bengaluru South, 83.84% in Kodagu and 83.31% in Bengaluru North. Last year, Dakshina Kannada topped the list and Udupi ranked second. 

Yadgir district recorded lowest results with 48.45% this year, followed by Kalburgi 55.70%, which ranked last the previous year, Raichur 58.75%, Vijayapura 58.81% and Chitradurga 59.87%.

This year a whopping 5414 students scored centum in Language Kannada paper, followed by 4038 students in Mathematics and 2536 students in Sanskrit, 2346 students in Biology, 2013 in Statistics and 1137 in Computer Science. 

While 1,00,571 students have got distinction (above 85%), 2,78,054 students got first class (60% to 85%), 70,969 students got second class (50% to 60%) and 18,845 students got pass class (35% to 50%).

Amongst students with special needs, those with Autism have performed the best, with a pass percentage of 75.56% this year. Of the 45 students who appeared for the examination 34 passed. Along with them, 186 students with visual impairment, 19 with cerebral palsy, 102 with hearing impairment and 72 with learning disability, among others passed the exams.
