If you dig at Mughal-era mosques, you will find temples: Bajrang Dal leader
India Today
Amid the Gyanvapi mosque row, Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Tyagi claimed that if mosques belonging to the Mughal era are dug, ancient Hindu temples would be found. He said that the government should conduct a survey of all the mosques.
After the lawyers representing the Hindu petitioners claimed that a Shivling was found at the Gyanvapi Masjid complex in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Tyagi made another sensational claim. Tyagi said that if all the mosques that belonged to the Mughal era are dug, ancient Hindu temples would be found.
The Bajrang Dal leader went on to claim that if all the mosques in India are surveyed, one would get proof that they had been constructed by demolishing Hindu temples.
He further said, "I appeal that all the mosques in India, belonging to the Mughal era, should be surveyed to get evidence that they had been built by demolishing ancient Hindu temples."
Referring to the videography survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid, the leader said, "The remnants of the temple have been found there and the only thing that was not found there is- the soul of Aurangzeb. Shivling has been found inside a wazukhana or reservoir on the mosque complex. What more proof do they need to establish the fact that there was a temple there?"
Tyagi also claimed that if mosques are dug, one would find a Shiv or Ram or Lord Hanuman's temple inside. The government should conduct a survey of all the mosques of the Mughal era as these places belong to the Hindu community.
Tyagi also welcomed the decision of the local court to carry out a survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid and said that the place must be handed over to the Hindus immediately.
