If I want to pray outside PM residence ...: Owaisi on Hanuman Chalisa row

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi claimed that it would be unreasonable for him to say that he wants to offer prayers in front of the Prime Minister's residence.
Amid the ongoing Hanuman Chalisa row in Maharashtra, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi claimed that it would be unreasonable for him to say that he wants to offer prayers in front of the Prime Minister's residence. Owaisi’s remark follows just days after MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana were arrested after they had threatened to chant Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray’s residence, Matoshree.
Talking about the sedition charges against MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana, Owaisi said, “The Supreme Court is examining it (sedition charge) closely. The couple should have avoided challenging Uddhav Thackeray to recite Hanuman Chalisa.”
He further hit out at Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and said, “Sanjay Raut should not drag me in their scuffle. He should not mention my name as 'Hindu Owaisi' to provoke Raj Thackarey. It is Thackarey family infighting. They should try to solve that.”
Owaisi accused Raj Thackeray of “institutionalizing hate” and alleged that the Muslim community is being given “collective punishment”.
Addressing a gathering in Aurangabad, Assasuddin Owaisi said, “Hate is being institutionalised by the BJP. Raj Thackarey is just promoting this institutionalisation of hate. Muslim community is given collective punishment.”
He alleged that the “states are not ruled by democracy, but bulldozers now”.
The AIMIM chief stated that law and order is supreme, adding that the onus is on Maharashtra government to maintain peace in the state.
