Environmental groups, and even the state's own Fish and Game Department, opposed the measure that would permit the deaths of more than 1,000 wolves.
Republican Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed a bill into law to allow hunters and government-hired private contractors to kill up to 90% of the state’s 1,500 wolves. Little signed the bill on Thursday after it passed the state’s Senate and House with enough votes to override a veto, The Associated Press reported. The measure saw heavy backing from the agricultural industry, with supporters saying there are “too many” wolves in Idaho. Gabrielle Danthine / EyeEm via Getty Images Idaho Gov.
