Wedding preparations are in full swing as IAS exam topper Tina Dabi gets ready to tie the knot, for the second time, with Dr Pradeep Gawande in Jaipur today.
Tina Dabi, the first SC woman to top the IAS examination, will be marrying Dr Pradeep Gawande in a private ceremony in Jaipur today. The couple have sent out invitations for their wedding reception at a plush hotel in the city on April 22.
The staff at the five-star hotel in Jaipur, where the wedding reception is scheduled to be held on April 22, remained tight-lipped about the details of the marriage ceremony.
However, both the Dabi and the Gawande families are believed to be elated at the duo’s upcoming nuptials. Preparations are underway for an elaborate ceremony.

Dabi, an officer from the 2016 Rajasthan cadre, and Gawande, from the 2013 cadre, are currently posted in Jaipur. While Tina Dabi is currently Joint Secretary of Finance (Tax) to the Rajasthan government., Dr Gawande is posted as Director of Archaeology and Museums in the Rajasthan capital.
The two IAS officers met during the Covid-19 pandemic, when they were tasked with ensuring supplies. "We had met during the pandemic. It was he who proposed to me and I accepted his proposal," Dabi had told India Today.
While 29-year-old Dabi will be tying the knot for the second time, this would be Gawande’s first marriage. Dabi was previously married to Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan, an IAS officer from Kashmir, but their marriage did not last long. The couple was granted divorce by a family court in Jaipur in August 2021.
