Wing Commander Vikrant Uniyal scaled Mount Everest on May 21 to mark the 75th year of Independence. On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the IAF officer, upon reaching the summit, sang the national anthem, and that too, without his oxygen mask. A video of the entire moment has gone viral online and you should definitely check it out.
The now-viral video was posted on Twitter by PRO Defence Prayagraj. In the short clip, Vikrant Uniyal along with fellow mountaineers held the national flag and the Air Force Flag. He stood up and also sang the national anthem. “On the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, we are holding the Indian national flag and Air Force flag on Mount Everest. We would also like to present the national anthem for the nation,” he can be heard saying in the video.
