Indian Air Force jets were scrambled following a bomb threat on an Iranian plane. The IAF and security agencies are monitoring the plane that is headed to China.
In a major development, Indian Air Force fighter jets were scrambled from Jodhpur and Punjab to intercept an Iranian aircraft, which had a bomb onboard. Soon after the inputs were received by security agencies regarding the bomb threat, ground forces were activated and two Su-30MKI fighter jets were scrambled to intercept the plane, top government sources told India Today TV.
The aircraft sought permission to land at the Delhi air base, but it was denied permission to do so, and it was accompanied by the two jets continuously. The aircraft, however, was cleared later of any bomb threat, and then it was allowed to move towards its destination, China.
However, security forces are keeping a close watch on the plane and its route towards China, with all air stations of the Indian Air Force and aviation units on alert. The air plane is still being tracked by Indian agencies closely.
