I-T dept quizzes real estate firm director over ex-Maha chief secretary's Mumbai flat | Exclusive

The Income Tax department questioned one of the directors of a suspected benami firm that  sold a flat to ex-Maharashtra chief secretary Ajoy Mehta. 

The Income Tax department's benami section probing the transaction of a flat located at Nariman Point, which was purchased by former Maharashtra chief secretary Ajoy Mehta -- who presently heads MahaRera -- has questioned one of the directors of the suspected benami firm, Anamitra properties, that sold him the flat . The agency recently recorded a statement by Nikhil Gokhale, who is the director of Anamitra properties, as per registrar of company (ROC) records.
