I-T dept finds gifts worth crores to ‘Matoshree’, Shiv Sena leader claims it was for his mom

The Income Tax department has found suspicious diary entries that detail gifts worth crores given to 'Matoshree' by Shiv Sena leader Yashwant Jadhav. He, however, has maintained that 'Matoshree' refers to his mother, not the Thackeray residence in Mumbai.

The Income Tax department officials who are investigating BMC Standing Committee Chairman Yashwant Jadhav have reportedly found a diary with details of suspicious dealings worth crores. The officials purportedly found two diary entries that say a watch worth Rs 50 lakh and another gift of Rs 2 crore were given to 'Matoshree'.

Matoshree is the name of the Thackeray residence in Bandra in Mumbai.

However, Yashwant Jadhav has maintained that 'Matoshree' in the diary entries refers to his mother.
