In a candid conversation with IndiaToday.in, Swara Bhasker admits that, when it comes to her personal relationships, she's nothing like her bold Twitter avatar. She also shares a piece of advice she would like to give her younger self.
Swara Bhasker is among those few actors who have always been upfront about her thoughts and opinions. She never minces her words and is known for speaking her heart out. In this chat with IndiaToday.in, the actress gets candid about relationships and a piece of advice she would like to give her younger self.
Swara Bhasker, who debuted with the film Madholal Keep Walking, is well known for her roles in films like Tanu Weds Manu, Nil Battey Sannata, Raanjhanaa, Anarkali of Aarah, and Veere Di Wedding. Known for her strong voice, Swara calls herself an unapologetic feminist. However, her brother has some other thoughts about her. Speaking to IndiaToday.in exclusively, Swara said, "It's very funny, my brother (Ishaan) always tells me, 'You are so independent and successful. You are like a feminist icon on Twitter, you are fiery and strong, but in your relationship, you are like a poccha (mop). Why?' It's actually striking and I don’t know how that happens. People are surprised to see that in personal relationships, I am a doormat type. I always get hurt by people. It's not a good thing and I am not proud of it. I am trying hard to work on it and, yes, I am not my Twitter avatar in my personal life."
The Nil Battey Sannata actress was dating screenwriter Himanshu Sharma for five years before they decided to part ways in 2019. The two had met on the sets of Raanjhanaa and called it quits years later.
Ask her what piece of advice she would like to give her younger self and pat comes her response, "Don’t trust people so easily, just because you are honest and straightforward does not mean that the world is like that. People tell so many lies. We shouldn't be trusting of people. That’s the advice I would like to give and that is what I feel I have learned more and more and have experienced - that people lie a lot. I don’t know why, but they do."
