I have been non-stop since school, so enjoyed my break: Sam Curran on getting sidelined due to back injury

England decimated South Africa in the second ODI of the three match series, bundling them for just 83 runs. Sam Curran was chosen player of the match for his whirlwind 35 off 18 balls.
England bowling all-rounder Sam Curran said that he had thoroughly enjoyed his forced break during the time he was injured. Curran’s comments came after a match-winning performance in a rain-marred game at Old Trafford where he did well with both bat and ball to win the player of the match trophy on Friday, 22 July.
Curran had been sidelined for several months after injuring his back while playing in the Indian Premier League in the 2021 season.

The former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder was forced to pull out from the IPL auction and had said that time that it was going to be very frustrating to stay away from the action and watch it from home.
Playing the second ODI against Curran hit 35 off just 18 balls in a rain curtailed match and then took one wicket for just five runs while bowling two overs. Asked about his process while batting, Curran said that the idea was to go and be positive.
"Any time I go to bat, I bat with a batter's mindset, I'm happy down the order and try to chip in like today. I've been non-stop since school so enjoyed the break [during back injury]. The message is always take your positive option. The way Liam was striking against Heinrich was pretty impressive. I want to be adaptable and do my best."
England have tied the three-match series 1-1 after their thumping win and are once again set to play a decider in the three-match series. The Jos Buttler side took the series to a decider against India as well earlier this month, but could not match up to the intensity of the Indian side.
