I cursed myself after I became Punjab CM: Charanjit Singh Channi

Channi said that he 'cursed' himself after becoming Punjab Chief Minister as he felt guilty for having 1000 cops to guard him.

New Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday said that he "cursed" himself after he became the chief minister. Channi said that he felt like he was in 'captivity' after he saw that 1000 cops were deployed to guard him and his convoy of vehicles.

"What is the use of being a VIP? I was cursing myself when I became chief minister. I was escorted by a huge crowd. I asked the officials to remove them as I'm an independent person. Who will kill me? Just tell me what one would get by killing me. Do you know how big my security cover is? 1000 jawans have been deployed in my security. I have been given 200 vehicles. Some vehicles are as big as a room," said Channi.
