Hardik Pandya gave a decent account of his skills after leading Gujarat Titans (GT) to victory in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Former Indian cricketer Kiran More reckoned that Hardik Pandya has become a more versatile cricketer after captaining the Gujarat Titans (GT) to glory in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The veteran said that Hardik brings a lot of value to any team, not only for his all-round skills, but also for his ability to lead under pressure.
Under Pandya, the Titans finished on top of the points table in the league stage with victories in 10 out of 14 matches. Thereafter, the IPL newbies defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Qualifier 1 and Final to come up trumps. Apart from scoring heavily for his team, Pandya also chipped in with useful wickets.
In fact, he became the Player of the Match in the final after he picked up three crucial wickets to break the backbone of the Royals’ innings. No wonder More heaped praise on the Young Turk.
“For me, Hardik was a young kid who wanted to perform all the time. I now believe he is a four-dimensional player now. Earlier, he was a three-dimensional player because he is bowler, a batter and a fielder, but now he is captain as well. So you feel proud that you have such a talented cricketer in the national side,” More was quoted as saying.
After his stupendous performance in the IPL, Pandya made his way into the national team for the T20I series against South Africa. He made his debut back in 2016 and has come a long way in his career. In the last four years, Pandya has been a limited-overs specialist for the Men in Blue as he hasn’t played Test cricket since 2018.
