Hong Kong captain Nizakat Khan has admitted that he is a fan of Virat Kohli and said that he wants the star batter return to form ahead of their upcoming Asia Cup clash on 31st August.
Kohli's form in international cricket has been a topic of discussion for quite sometime, as the 33-year-old has failed to hit a century in any format of the game since 2019. The Indian star played a patient knock against Pakistan on Sunday in the Asia Cup opener as he scored 35 off 34 balls but failed to convert it into a big score.
Speaking to News 24, as quoted by News 18, the Hong Kong skipper said that Kohli played well against Pakistan and admitted that he is a big fan of the star batter. He also said that everyone wants the 33-year-old to return to form and score a lot of runs.
“I am a big fan of Virat Kohli, he played well against Pakistan, we really want him to come back in form & score lots of runs," said Khan.
The last encounter between Hong Kong and India in the Asia Cup was a tight affair and Khan said that the team is confident ahead of Wednesday's clash as anything can happen in a T20 game.
“We lost by just 20 runs when we last faced India at the Asia Cup in 2018. Anything can happen in a T20 game. You don’t when a bowler can deliver a good spell, or a batter hits some quick runs in a couple of overs," said Khan.
The Hong Kong skipper also said that his team would go out on the field against India with positive body language.
