Hyderabad: Sero survey finds 54% population could be exposed to Covid-19

The latest seroprevalence survey in Hyderabad has found that about 54 per cent of the city’s population carries antibodies against Covid-19. This indicates their possible exposure to the SARS-CoV-2.
The latest round of seroprevalence survey conducted in Hyderabad has found that about 54 per cent of the population in the city has developed antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes Covid-19. The study was jointly conducted by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), the ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) and the pharmaceutical company Bharat Biotech. “The data indicate that the population of Hyderabad might be slowly moving towards herd immunity, which will be certainly accelerated by the ongoing vaccination effort,” said Doctor Rakesh Mishra, the CCMB director.More Related News
