Arguments in a hate speech case involving AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi were completed today and a special sessions court will deliver the verdict on April 12.
A special sessions court in Hyderabad will deliver the judgment in the 2012 hate speech case involving All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi on April 12.
The police had filed a suo-moto case under IPC sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy),153-A (promoting enmity between two groups based on religion), 295 (A)(Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 298 (deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings of any person) and 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).
It is alleged that on December 22, 2012, the AIMIM leader held a public meeting at NTR stadium in Nirmal town.
During the speech, Akbaruddin Owaisi, who is the brother of Party chief and Hyderabad MP Asadduddin Owaisi, allegedly used provocative words and used 'certain language' (if the police were kept out for 15 minutes) promoting enmity against a particular religious community.
Akbaruddin was arrested after his return from London and spent 40 days in prison before getting bail.
