How will they see inflation: Rahul Gandhi raps govt's reply on price rise in Parliament
India Today
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at the BJP government for its reply on price rise in Parliament. The government said there is no chance of India getting into recession.
The BJP government is not able to see the inflation in the country as they have blindfolded their eyes with ego and selling the assets of the country to their friends in 'Free Fund', Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday. The remarks of the Congress leader came after the debate on price rise in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
"How will they see inflation?", the Congress leader said. His reply came after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said there is no chance of the country going into recession or stagflation.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Rahul Gandhi wrote in Hindi, "Due to the celebration of Amritkal, the BJP government said in Parliament that there is no inflation in the country. Well, how are they going to see the inflation? They have blindfolded their eyes with ego and selling the assets of the country to their friends in 'Free Fund'." (sic)

He also compared the prices of petrol, diesel and other commodities from 2019 to that at present.
Nirmala Sitharaman told the Lok Sabha,"There is no chance of the country going into recession or stagflation. Currently retail inflation is at 7 per cent. During UPA rule from 2004 to 2014, the inflation went into double digits. During that period, the inflation was above 9 per cent for 22 consecutive months."
