Kamaal R Khan was arrested on August 30 for his controversial tweets about Irrfan and Rishi Kapoor. Hours later, he was shifted to a hospital over chest pain complaints.
Kamaal R Khan, best known as KRK, is often in the news for his controversial movie reviews and tweets. The actor-critic was arrested by the Malad Police on August 30, following a controversial tweet he made in 2020 targeting Irrfan and Rishi Kapoor. KRK was detained at the airport and was arrested post questioning, and has now been sent to 14-day judicial custody. The complaint was filed by Yuva Sena member Rahul Kanal. Just hours after KRK was sent into judicial custody, the actor was taken to hospital over complaints of chest pain.
As per news agency ANI, KRK was admitted to Shatabdi Hospital in Mumbai as he complained of having chest pain in the evening, shortly after his arrest. In a post, the news agency shared an update that read, "Kamal Rashid Khan was brought to Shatabdi Hospital in the Kandivali area of Mumbai today evening after he complained of having chest pain. He was arrested by Malad Police in Mumbai today, over his controversial tweet in 2020 (sic)."

KRK was arrested after a case was registered against him in 2020 for his social media attacks on Irrfan and Rishi Kapoor. A lookout notice was issued against KRK after which, an FIR was registered against him in 2020. The complaint was filed by Yuva Sena member Rahul Kanal. He was produced today in Borivali court on August 30 and was sent to 14-day judicial custody. He was arrested under Sections 153A, 294, 500, 501, 505, 67, and 98 of the IPC.
"Kamal R Khan has been arrested today on my complaint. I welcome this move by Mumbai police. He makes derogatory comments on social media and uses foul language. Such kind of behaviour is unacceptable in society. By arresting him, Mumbai police has sent out a strong message against such people," said Rahul Kanal.
