Captain Amarinder Singh congratulated the new Punjab CM-designate Charanjit Singh Channi on his appointment, adding that he hopes the new chief minister will stand with the farmers in their battle.
A day after he resigned as the chief minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday expressed sorrow at having to cancel the scheduled disbursement of appointment letters to families of 150 farmers who had lost their lives in the ongoing agitation against the Centre’s farm laws. ‘Sad at not being able to personally hand over job letters to kin of 150 farmers who had lost their lives in stir against #FarmLaws. Captain Amarinder Singh stepped down as the chief minister of Punjab on Saturday following months of infighting between him and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. A day after Amarinder Singh’s exit, Congress announced their decision to appoint Charanjit Singh Channi as the new Punjab CM.
