Homeless man jailed after allegedly slashing Hasidic couple and baby

A homeless man who allegedly slashed a Hasidic couple and their 1-year-old daughter in Lower Manhattan was jailed on Friday — but not before mouthing off to the judge.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Jay Weiner ordered Darryl Jones, 30, held without bail on attempted murder charges in the shocking caught-on-camera attack Wednesday near Battery Park. Weiner warned Jones during his virtual hearing that if he refused to leave jail for upcoming court appearances, he’d face additional consequences.
