On Wednesday, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha decided to transfer all Hindu government employees to the district headquarters in the Kashmir valley following a high-level meeting with top officials from both the police and civil administration in Srinagar.
The Hindu government employees, serving in the far-flung areas, will be transferred to district HQs in the Kashmir valley while the government will ensure proper security and secure accommodation for all Hindu government employees in J&K.
Employees too have been protesting against the recent attacks. They are seeking transfer to Jammu from Kashmir. Last month, over 350 government employees in the Kashmir valley, all Kashmiri Pandits, submitted their resignations to Manoj Sinha, a day after their colleague, Rahul Bhat, was murdered by terrorists. The Pandits said they no longer feel safe.
