A spate of communal violence has revealed India's growing Hindu-Muslim division, with many accusing the government of inflaming tensions.
"In the blink of an eye, my home was demolished," said the 45-year-old fruit seller, whose kitchen, fruit cart, and cattle shed have all been destroyed. "While I stood there watching... (the police) just walked away."

A majority of the Supreme Court on Tuesday appeared skeptical that Holocaust victims and their families are permitted to haul Hungary into American courts to recover property stolen during World War II, with several justices fearing that would open the United States up to a flood of similar litigation from abroad.
