Shiv Sena MLA and leader Aditya Thackeray has hit back at Maharashtra assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar after the speaker said that he would consider the existence of only one Shiv Sena with 55 MLA's strength in the house.
Amid the legitimacy of Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government, Shiv Sena MLA and leader Aditya Thackeray has hit back at Maharashtra assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar, saying that the speaker’s appointment in the house itself is unconstitutional.
Thackeray reacted to Narwekar’s comments where he said that he would consider the existence of only one Shiv Sena with 55 MLA's strength in the house.
Aditya Thackeray said, “He may rule anything, but his appointment in the house itself is unconstitutional. Only Shiv Sena's whip issued by our MLA Sunil Prabhu is applicable and party office in the assembly will continue to be claimed by us. Those sitting on the ruling party bench are not Shiv Sena but traitors.”
In an exclusive interview with India Today, the Maharashtra assembly speaker clarified that his office has still not received any proposal for the formation of a separate group. Therefore, as per his records, he will consider the existence of only one Shiv Sena with 55 MLA's strength in the house.
Also, Speaker informed that though the petitions regarding Shiv Sena factions are subjudiced in Supreme Court, the proceedings on the house will be carried out under the authority of Speaker as per rules.
As the fight for real Shiv Sena is going on between Eknath Shinde faction and Uddhav Thackeray faction, it is unclear that who would lead the real Shiv Sena in the first assembly session of Shinde - Fadnavis government.
Meanwhile, Aditya Thackeray with his faction of MLAs joined the protest with NCP and Congress in the staircase of assembly. They raised slogans of 'ED Sarkar' condemning Eknath Shinde - Devendra Fadnavis government.
