Hindu groups descended on the Qutb Minar in Delhi on Tuesday, demanding that the famed monument be renamed to Vishnu Stambh.
Hindu groups descended on the Qutb Minar in Delhi on Tuesday, demanding that the iconic monument be renamed to Vishnu Stambh.
Activists from the Mahakal Manav Sewa and other right-wing outfits were seen holding placards and raising slogans amid heavy police deployment at the Qutb Minar, which is recognised as a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
The protesters also chanted the Hanuman Chalisa while camping near the Qutb Minar.

Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP has sought that the names of other landmarks in the national capital, like Akbar Road, Humayun Road, Aurangzeb Lane and Tughlak Lane, be changed as they are named after Mughal rulers.
