Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad claimed on Wednesday that members of his party's student wing had brought back the tricolour where a saffron flag had been hoisted at a college in Karnataka the previous day.
Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad claimed on Wednesday morning that members of his party's student wing, the National Students' Union of India, had brought back the tricolour where a saffron flag had been hoisted at Shivamogga Government College in Karnataka the previous day.
On Tuesday, a video surfaced showing a boy at a college in Shimoga climbing up a pole and hoisting a saffron flag. While the Congress alleged that the flag had "replaced" the national flag, sources told India Today TV that the tricolour had not been hoisted there earlier.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad posted a video in which a group of students is singing the national anthem while the tricolour flutters above them.
He wrote, "Hope is the last thing ever lost. Happy to see NSUI workers put back the national flag where a saffron flag was hoisted yesterday at the Shivamogga Govt College."
