Muslim girl students from Shivamogga say that they are not happy about the hijab row verdict by the Karnataka HC. In conversation with India Today reporter Pramod Madhav, they said that religion and education are both crucial to them, like water and food.
The Karnataka High Court had ruled that wearing hijabs is not part of the essential religious practice in Islam on Tuesday, March 15. Following this ruling, the petitioners have approached the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court’s verdict.
A day after this verdict, Muslim girls in Shivamogga said that they are not happy with the judgement and that their future is being spoiled. They further said that both religion and education are crucial to them, like water and food.
India Today reporter, Pramod Madhav, interacted with a few Muslim girl students in Shivamogga and recorded their opinions on the Karnataka HC’s verdict on the hijab row.
