Highway 17 has fully reopened after being closed for over an hour and subsequently reduced to one lane Sunday afternoon because of a multi-vehicle crash in Nairn Centre.
Highway 17 has fully reopened after being closed for over an hour and subsequently reduced to one lane Sunday afternoon because of a multi-vehicle crash involving a commercial motor vehicle in Nairn Centre.
Few details are know at this time about the crash at this time.
On ‘X,’ formerly Twitter, the Ministry of Transportation's (MTO) 511 Traveller Information Service indicated the collision at 12:15 p.m.
The highway was closed at Smith Street.
“Highway 17 is closed at Smith Street in Nairn Centre due to a motor vehicle collision,” said police, in a tweet just after 12:30 p.m.
“OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) on scene.”
The MTO 511 Map indicates the roadway partially reopened at about 1:40 p.m. with the left lane closed the roadway was reduced to one lane.
