Covid-19 hospitalisations are rising exponentially due to a rapid surge in cases since April. Reports suggest that infected patients are being denied cashless insurance claims for treatment at network hospitals. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday said that she had spoken to the chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India about the issue and directed him to ensure that cashless insurance is available at all network and temporary hospitals for Covid-19 patients. “Cashless (insurance is) available at networked or even temporary hospitals.
