Heavy rainfall pours flood miseries in many Bihar, UP districts

As Bihar and Uttar Pradesh receive 171% and 158% above normal rainfall, several districts in both states have been hit hard by floods.  

Heavy rainfall in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh has triggered floods in various districts of both states. Thirty-one of the total 38 districts in Bihar and 51 of the total 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh have received ‘large excess’ (60 per cent or more) rainfall in the first three weeks of the southwest monsoon season.
