
Heavy rain, thunderstorms likely in Himachal Pradesh over next four days

As per the prediction by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in the lower and mid hills of Himachal Pradesh till July 16.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in the lower and mid hills of Himachal Pradesh till July 16.
The IMD wrote, "Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana on July 13 and 14....." (sic)
Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab & Haryana on 13th & 14th, Uttarakhand on 13th, 14th, 16th & 17th; West Uttar Pradesh on 13th and over Rajasthan during 13th-15th July. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over East Rajasthan on 14th July.
Moderate to heavy rain continued to lash parts of Himachal today. Due to rains, as many as 14 roads (eight in Mandi, four in Kullu and one each in Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti) were blocked, 20 water supply schemes were disrupted and 10 transformers were dysfunctional. Narkanda recorded a low of 13.3 degrees Celsius while Una was the hottest at 36.6 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rainfall in the state has also triggered cloudburst incidents, claiming many lives.
