The Anishinabek Police Service (APS) is asking the public to stay away from Gerald Crescent in Garden Village on Nipissing First Nation.
“There will be a strong presence of police, including the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police),” said the police service in a Facebook post on Saturday morning.
“Stay away will benefit the safety of the community and police.”
“There is no imminent risk and to avoid any further safety concerns,” Sgt. Chantal Larocque with APS told CTV News.
“We have a situation where we have an active containment at a residence in Garden Village on Nipissing First Nation.”
Larocque said the call came in around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
She confirmed an officer with APS responded to the call and requested backup.
